Bold legislation
In what is sure to be just the first in a series of bold, courageous actions, The House of Representatives weakened their already lame "ethics" rules. Lobbyists can now provide congressional offices with perishable food - this is called the "pizza rule" by protesting Democrats. "Protesting Democrats?" you say? That's right, the vote was pretty much along party lines (link).
Where the food gift used to count against the member's $49.99 yearly limit for gifts, the cost of the food is now allocated among all who eat it ("Let's see, two chicken wings for Bill, three for Ted, and Matt ate one and part of a second... Lemme get a calculator").
In addition to free pizza, wings (and probably caviar), House members can now accept free travel and lodging from "charities".
