Relief

Am I relieved that W got a second term? Not particularly. I am relieved that we at least know who the next president is, and we don't have to watch a circus of lawyers squabbling over fraud, disenfranchisement, or other allegations.

As for people being relieved that W is in office again, I'm sure that Hillary Clinton can be counted among those people. This way she won't be running against an incumbent democrat come 2008.

I'm just glad it's over. It would have been nice for Bush to have been sent packing back to Texas, but at least we won't have to watch lawyers, publicists, spokespeople, and various mouthpieces for both parties argue over who really won the presidential race. Part of me wishes that the popular and electoral votes reflected different candidates, though: it would be nice to do away with the electoral college.
