Love Among the Ruins

Marin Headlands, California
I was hiking in the Marin Headlands State Park today. At several places in the park, there are the remains of gun and missile batteries once used for coastal defense. At the ruins of Battery Mendell (a World War I emplacement), there was a wedding in progress. Two people stood and exchanged vows where at a time in the past, there would be guns manned and pointed out to sea. The sounds of orders being given and crews being changed is today replaced by The Wedding March played on flugelhorn. Pretty neat contrast, wouldn't you say?
Best of luck to the new bride and groom.
