It ain't pneumonia
The tests for pneumonia came back negative. Despite that, I'm still fatigued and gobblin' doxycycline like it's candy.
Wrote a check today for 80% of the cost of a 2.5 kW grid-tied photovoltaic system. The panels (Kyocera 167's) arrived today, and assuming that SRP (Salt River Project, the local power company) approves, we should be up and generating in late January or early February. SRP of course will need to pay us back for any power that we generate but don't use. SRP uses "net metering", meaning that they have to pay us what they would have charged us for the power (we're lucky - some companies use a wack "wholesale" rate).
The array will be installed on the back of the roof, but I'm still anticipating a fight with the homeowner's association. If they swing by to complain, I'll just tell 'em to suck on A.R.S. § 33-439. To wit:
§ 33-439. Restrictions on installation or use of solar energy devices invalid; exception
A. Any covenant, restriction or condition contained in any deed, contract, security agreement or other instrument affecting the transfer or sale of, or any interest in, real property which effectively prohibits the installation or use of a solar energy device as defined in section 44-1761 is void and unenforceable.
