Back in Berkeley

Yes, I'm back in Berkeley. I got in to Oakland this morning (late, courtesy of Southwest Airlines). After getting the rental car, I noticed a sign that said "Air Museum". I followed the signs and found the Western Aerospace Museum (oh, okay, if you must have the "official" site, it's here). Very cool place. It's not as slick as museums with big money (the Naval Aviation museum in PCola springs to mind), but they've got some nice planes (including a very nice A-3), and a very hard-working restoration crew. If you're in the area, stop by - you won't regret it. I highly recommend a tour of the "Flying Boat" - it's docent-led, and for a $5 donation, it's a tiny price to pay for history and plenty of photo ops (and the chance to sit in the same seat that Harrison Ford sat in during the "travel" scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark).

I visited a friend this evening, and I'm now back at the hotel (the Durant again - my usual Berkeley haunt). Time for some sleep.
