Personal injury lawyer's dream

Remember when playgrounds used to have metal slides? They were a frequent sight in the town (not to mention the time) that I grew up in. They did had their disadvantages: namely, they got hot as all blazes in the Florida sun. Woe to the kid that sat on a slide that had been baking in the sun!

The advantages? The old metal slides were fast...fast as hell. Also, they didn't build up static electricity like the plastic ones you see today. Nowadays, it's "Woe to the parent that touches their kid at the bottom of a plastic slide"...ZAP!

You don't see the metal ones very often these days. My sister took this picture in some tiny burg in Georgia. Newer playgrounds seem to have traded fun for safety. I'm sure many a lawsuit was made by accidents on metal slides, monkey bars, and the like.
