Back in Berkeley

Yes, I'm back in Berkeley for a week of fun up at the Lab. I got in on Sunday, and I'll be here until Friday. Last night (Tuesday) was a nice break - I went to the Triple Rock (haven't been there in a while) for a beer & burger. After that, I went across the bridge into the city, and arrived just in time to catch The Faraday Effect at the Bottom of the Hill. The Faraday Effect is a tight five-person (3 girls, 2 guys) band that plays New Wave that would have been right at home in the 80's. It was a great show, and it brought me back to my [misspent] youth. Minimalist bass, good drums, and lots of synth - very good stuff.

Got caught in traffic on the way back - the game I caught at the Triple Rock (the Cards beat the Giants) was letting out. The AT&T (or SBC, or whatever their name is this week) ballpark looks really nice. Looks like they ream you for parking, though - $25!
