Waveguides

I went to the Advanced Light Source earlier this evening to take some more photos. It was operating, so I couldn't get into the caves or loiter on top of the storage ring. Here's a photo of the twin waveguides of the storage ring RF system. These are fed by 300kW of CW (continuous wave) 500MHz power split with a magic tee. These waveguides feed two single-cell RF cavities inside the storage ring.
