Hallowed Ground

I drove up to Gettysburg today. I didn't mean to - I just planned on going to Catoctin Furnace (which I did), but after that, I figured I was close, so why not?

Sadly, the Visitor Center at Gettysburg does not do the National Battlefield justice. It's dark, damp, musty, and cramped. There are plans to build a new one, and I hope that the NPS builds one that adequately represents the Battlefield (no, I'm not a hypocrite - I made a donation).

The photo above shows artillery from the Army of Northern Virginia atop Seminary Ridge.
