Licensed

I am now licensed to drive in the State (oops - excuse me - I meant "Commonwealth") of Virginia! Just an hour or so at the Leesburg DMV, and I'm ready to roll with a license, a spiffy new title, a registration, and some plates.

Now all I need is my car. For the moment, I'm depending on the generosity of friends (I've got a sweet "rental"). If my car ever arrives, I'll get it inspected, pay the Loudoun County taxes, slap some stickers on, and then be ready to go for real.

I moved into my apartment this morning. Very nice! Big ol' flat screen TV, granite counters, high-falutin' appliances, comfy bed, nicer furniture than I would have picked out, high-speed internet (w00t!), and hardwood floors. No roommate for now (it's a two-bedroom). I forgot my checkbook, so I couldn't produce a check for the rent, but they're kind enough to let me be a squatter until I get some checks next week.
