Last day

Today was my last day at GE. I inflicted yet more punishment on my replacement, went with the group (it's really small now) for lunch at an Italian place, then joined some friends at 5:30 to hoist drinks. Where leaving my last job was difficult, this was easy. Although I really liked the people I was working with, the organization has been allowed to wither through neglect. I don't have a strong enough stomach to stay and watch the death of an organization that I was a founding member of.
Besides, the job at HHMI is going to be fantastic. It's really early (the Campus just opened recently), and should have that "start-up" vibe that I like. I start on October 2nd - I can't wait!
