Centrifuge
Earlier today, I visited the Goddard Space Flight Center. The Visitor Center has a lot of exhibits about the Hubble Space Telescope. The "rocket garden" is small, but they have some nice exhibits (one being an Iris sounding rocket - the only known Iris left). In was very fortunate to have met the Operations Manager; after the Visitor Center closed, he took me on a tour of the Goddard Space Flight Center. I got to see the testing areas, one of the world's largest clean rooms, and the centrifuge. The photo here is of the High Capacity Centrifuge, capable of spinning at 30 RPM and imposing loads of 30 Gs on test articles. I was also able to see Building 14, home to NASCOM (NASA Communications), and control rooms for the Hubble Space Telescope and other assets.
I wasn't expcting a full tour, so I didn't have all of my gear. That being said, I did get several good photos - I'll post them to flickr at some point.
