Dodging a bullet

Today, Hurricane Charley slammed into the west coast of Florida and cut a swath of destruction across the state. I mention this because my family (parents and sister) were hunkered down just 10 miles north of where the hurricane made landfall. I was finally able to get through to them (the phone circuits have been busy or down all day). They spent a nervous hour in a closet (you want to be surrounded by as many interior walls as possible), but they're OK. Everyone's healthy, and property damage looks minimal.
Charley tore through Port Charlotte, where I grew up. I still have friends that live there. Reports at this time are pretty sketchy about what parts of town sustained the worst of the damage, so I'll join many others in praying for the residents living along the hurricane's path.
