First light

SRP (the power company) came by today to inspect our photovoltaic system. Not surprisingly, it passed, and we were able to pull two switches to activate it. At around 2:30 local time, the power from the array hit the inverter, and AC started flowing into our distribution box. The bad news? SRP came out with the wrong type of meter, and we're not sending power to the grid. The problem? SRP forgot that we have three-phase. No, we don't have a big house, just an old one. The AC unit we have is over 30 years old (and still blowing cold), and it's three-phase.

Pictured in the photo is the status display on the inverter. The inverter is a PV Powered PVP 2800. 97.6% efficiency, and it's made in the U.S.

SRP should be here tomorrow with the new meter, then they can start payin' us!
