Liftoff!

TacSat-2 made it off the pad! It was perfect - no holds, the weather was great, and the launch was a success. I left Ashburn last night around 10:00, and met DJ and two friends of his from Goddart at 11:00 in Greenbelt. We rolled into the Visitors Center at Wallops before 3:00 (before it was even open). We drove over to the base after 5:00 to catch a bus to the Island. The buses boarded at 6:00, and we were drove to a spot on Wallops a little over two miles from the pad. The countdown went like clockwork, and the Minotaur with its two satellites left the pad at precisely 7:00 AM.

After a long drive back, I'm seriously in need of a nap...
